Friday My Hometown Shootout - Domestic Animals

Sandy has chosen this weeks photo topic- Domesticated Animals.

Let's begin at Harris Farm where I purchase our milk (still packaged in glass bottles), organic veggies and meat.

Mommy cow and her babies.
"Petey" (name I gave him). Reminds me of the dog from "The Little Rascals".
A neighbors horses.
Sheep grazing at a local farm by the seaWhen my sons were younger they called these cows "Oreo cows". They came over to the fence and posed for me. They were a very curious couple.
.
Misha, our cat looking as though he is in deep meditation.
My sweet babies Cori and Lucky
A few pets from the past:
We once had a sweet indoor house rabbit named Brodi. He had a great personality.
Lizzie was quite the food hound and has been dearly missed for the last three years.
Thanks for joining me and remember to visit the Team Blog : Friday My Hometown Shootout.

Great photos! I love animals...is that cow the wet nurse for all the babies? I have never seen that, and we have tons of cows around here.

I really amused looking the domestic animals you presented especially your pets. I like the color combination of Petey. Great job of taking the moment photo of Misha. It's a good shot! And I can say dogs are really smart. Look at Cory and Lucky. Lizzie is so cute!

Judy - I do think she is a wet nurse as I overheard someone say conversing to that effect.

your post is such a pleasure! That is one shaggy bovine there, and those sheep could be boulders, and Lizzie! When I was a kid my grandfather had a steer we named Petey. It was fun to have cattle for a season.

I wonder what breed those oreo cows are; I've seen them here too! Love the sheep grazing. And of course, great pictures of your lovely dogs.

First - kudos to you gal - getting your milk in glass from the farm. I'm still looking for a place here that will let me do that.

Your kitty looks so soft! And your hounds are just adorable.

What sweet pets!

The first photo is really great. I love it. Your dogs are so beautiful. My last dog sheeba had the same markings, only she was part austrailian shepard and part collie. Petey does kind of look like the little rascals dog. How funny is that?

I still get my milk delivered too. My milk comes from Winder Farms up in St. George, Utah. The bottles are plastic, but they are shaped like the glass bottles.

Nice photos. But the shot of the sheep is especially intriguing. I had to click on it to see the sheep, othewise they weren't hardly distinguishable from the stones! And then there in the distance is an old cemetary. That shot makes me want to drive through your beautiful countryside. thanks!

Your Cory and Lucky are beautiful creatures. Lovely breed! And your "Oreo" cows - Belted Galloways - I love em. They always look so happy and cheeky somehow!

It is lovely and green with a smattering of rocks. The Shelties are so sweet. I really enjoyed sharing your photos, Denise. Thank You.

The "oreo" cows are probably Belted Galloways, there are some in our area as well. I also like to think of them as wearing white tube tops.....
