Friday My Hometown Shootout - My Favorite Place

This weeks theme was chosen by Cindy of Juneau, Alaska : "My Favorite Place to _________. "

I would finish this statement with: " My favorite place to be...to clear my head...to be inspired...is near the sea! Come walk with me by the shore of my hometown. (Please click on the photos for a larger view).
The sky and clouds on most days are absolutely glorious.
On this particular morning, I liked the way the clouds reflected on the pools of receding water.

I love the way ripples are sculpted into the sand by the tides.
You never know what treasures you will find.
One morning last week, I was walking with my son and we heard rich bagpipe music in the wind. Searching the shoreline we found this gentleman at the other end of the shore. What a beautiful sound that truly speaks to the heart and brought peace to my soul.
Thank you for visiting my hometown shoot out - remember to check out the other member blogs for a glimpse of their hometowns from around the world. Click on their blog links posted in the left hand column of the Friday My Town Shootout Blog.

Denise, what lovely photos, and the sea is one of my most favorite places to be!! Makes me miss the Jersey shore!! You really captured some great shots, especially the one of the clouds reflected in the water. Wow, makes me want to travel home to smell the salty air and hear the waves once again. We have beaches about 3 hours from us, but just not the same as the ones from "home". Good post!!

Yes there is nothing like the edge of the sea for beauty (unless it is a mountain top high above the world) the bagpipe music must have been really great blown by the wind. good blog

What a beautiful place to live and enjoy. I bet the bagpipe player gave you goosebumps when you heard him playing from the rocks.

I love your post! The shot with the reflection of the clouds is beautiful. I love the pretty architecture along your shore. It reminds me of The White Sands on Avonlea. Love the bagpiper - makes me think of Alexander McCall Smith, my favorite author who also plays the bagpipes.

WOW. I loved driving up to your hometown during summers in New Hampshire when I was younger. There's something about water that's just so clarifying, isn't there? Loved the photo of the cloud reflections.

I think this is my favorite post so far!

Absolutely beautiful. But your area is one of my favourite (I'll visit someday) American areas.

I'm driving to the beach myself in about an hour ..to my daughter and grandbaby. It will take me about 7 hours to get there...

Hugs.

How lucky to have come across the piper, I'll bet that's some sort of good luck omen, or something. Beautiful location.

I commented to my daughter about your first photo, "Oh look, it looks just like Ruakaka! She scrolled on down and said, "But, Mum, these photos are so obviously not yours!" Enough said! Maybe, one day, if I pay attention and keep trying, I will come close!!

I remember the first time I saw the sea, and walked so far that I turned to look back realizing just how far my tranquility could be...
