Friday My Town Shootout - Doors and Windows

Kerri has chosen this weeks photo topic- Doors and Windows. My husband and I enjoyed the sunshine last Sunday and strolled around Kennebunkport for some shots of my hometown!
A common site in my hometown - colonials homes, this one with a bright red door.

White barn with great windows on the second floor.

More New England Colonial Architecture.

Shops with great windows.
Come on in! I love the screen door below.
A common sight in windows in my hometown - starfish. Reminders of the sea we love!
I love blue doors.
Do you think this flag is larger than their front door?
A church converted into condos. Great design!

Thanks for stopping by and remember to click on the camera on the right hand side of my blog to visit the Friday Shoot Out gang and view their take on this weeks theme.

Denise, your home town must be beautiful. I think front doors, if painted not woodgrain, should be RED! the small porch with the glass and wood door is MINE!

You live in SUCH a pretty town.

And red doors are of course considered very good luck!

I love New England! Your pictures are wonderful! Since moving to Tenn. from Mass. 3 yrs ago,I so miss the age and history the New England homes offer, they are just so nice to look at! All we have is new construction here, how boring!

I love the architectural details in homes by the sea. It's almost like boat builders, who knew how to build and craft wood, put the love into their homes that they put into their boats. Maritime homes are just stunning! I hadn't realized that you and Kerri had chosen this theme together, oh quiet partner! Thank you for the idea and the tour around town, Denise. Wonderful!

So pretty. I love the architecture. When these homes were built, only native americans lived where I am.

This shootout has amazsed me at the number of different ways windows and doors can appear. And I agree with Ginger that you must live in a beautiful town.

These are very beautiful homes. The neighborhood is well manicured and it is so lovely. I love the red door in the first photo. I think the gray and the red look awesome. Oh, and that screen door is very decorative. It so pretty. The white house that has the flag is very pretty, but for me, the brown wooden door seems out of place with the house. They should paint it black or red. Your photos are absolutely gorgeous and so is your town.

What a beautiful town! I've always loved blue doors, too but today the colonial home with the red door is enticing me. It wants me, I know it does! :)

This really represents the New England feel for architecture, so solid and handsome. Beautiful!

It is nice to see the architecture in different areas. The northeast is unique, especially coastal areas.

You have great shots Denise. I love them all. I kept saying oh my.

My Town Shoot Out requires me to roam around and rediscover my own place. That's why I really love it.

Again, you have great photos. Thanks for sharing them. It is really cool to the eyes.

The screen door shot is my fave. What a beautiful job they've done of converting the church to condos - the exterior is not at all offensive (as often happens with conversions). Have a great long weekend!
