The Artists Bridge - Saturday Art Feature

The Sunday River Covered Bridge in Newry, Maine, is known as Artist's Bridge because it is purported to be the most painted and photographed covered bridge in Maine. This bridge was built in 1872 to span Sunday River and is named the Artist's Bridge because of its reputation as being the most photographed and painted of the all covered bridges in Maine. The bridge was closed to traffic in 1958 when a new bridge was built downstream. It is located about four miles northwest of North Bethel. Enjoy this video complete with information about the bridge. The road turns to the right before reaching Sunday River Bridge on the left.
