Thinking Green - Eat Fresh

Did you know that food processing and packaging accounts for about half the total energy used in the food production system. That reason alone should make you take out a recipe and start cooking! For your health and the health of the planet, try cutting down on packaged and processed foods. Instead, visit bulk bins, or buy natural ingredients and spices and try making your favorites from a recipe. The nice thing about buying spices in bulk is the freshness factor and it can be cheaper as you just have to buy what you need for your recipe. Bon Appetit!

You are so right !!!! I think twice before I purchase food items. I love buying fresh veggies & if they are organic that is the plus side ! If we take the time to realize what is in our food , how it's packaged & not waste so much we would all be for the better !! I order from a food co-op where we are able to get bulk items and on the most part they are organic ! Great post !

Cooking from scratch is always the best way. Sadly I don't have the time and place to do it.
