 Be Thankful

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach
you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary,
because it means you've made a difference.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they can become your blessings.

Monday Musings ~ Good for the Soul and the Mind

Did you have your "serving" of art this week?  According to a recent study by Stanford University professor Shirley Brice Heath, young people who participate in the arts at least 3 hours, 3 days/week for 1 year are 4 times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement and 3 times more likely to be elected to class office within their schools.  Everyone need to appreciate the importance of the Arts and advocate that Art programs in our public schools not be cut!

It’s really easy to participate all you have to do is clean out those drawers and follow these 4 simple steps:
  1. Wash It. All bras must be washed.
  2. Tag It. Fill out Bra Recycling Form.
  3. Box It. Place your bras in a box or large envelope.
  4. Drop It Off or Mail It. Mail your bra(s) to:

Monday Musings ~ Zen Humor

Q: What did one Zen practitioner give to another for his/her birthday?
A: Nothing.
Q: What did the birthday boy/girl respond in return?
A: You are thoughtless for giving me this meaningless gift.
To which the giver replied, "Thank you."

Monday Musings

Today is Toussaint Day in France, known here as All Saints Day. Traditionally in France, chrysanthemums are in abundance in the markets on Toussaint Day.  Many people visit cemeteries and place these colorful flowers on the graves of loved ones. In France, Toussaint Day is one of the most respected national public holidays, with all offices and shops closed.  The day generally beginning with All Saints Mass to remember the Catholic Saints as well as honoring relatives. This is followed by a visit to the family graves with the flowers, and a special lunch with loved ones. If you celebrate Toussaint Day may love fill your heart so that you may share such abundance with those still here with us as well as those who have departed. ♥
