Tuesdays Treasure
This rocking chair is amazing. The "Sway" is big enough for me and my sweetie pie to sit and chat face to face. Designed by Markus Strauss from Germany, it has a steel frame and padded seat. It morphs into various positions - simply genius and....I want one! via Bless This Stuff.

Friday Food Feature
adapted from Joy the Baker
For the Crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 Tbs granulated sugar
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, cold, cut into cubes
- 1 large egg
- 2 Tbs milk
- 1 large egg (for brushing the dough)
- 3/4 cup pureed pumpkin
- 1 large egg
- 1/8 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 3 tsp maple syrup
- 2 Tbs milk
In the bowl of a food processor, pulse together flour, sugar and salt. Add the cold butter and pulse in 1-second increments until the butter is the size of peas. The mixture should also hold together when squeezed into a ball.
In a small bowl, beat the egg with the milk. Add the mixture all at once to the dry ingredients and process to make sure that moisture is introduced to all of the flour mixture. On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for a few turns until it really starts to come together. Divide the dough in two, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes
While the dough is chilling, prepare the filling:
In a medium bowl, stir together the pumpkin puree and spices. Whisk in egg, salt and sugar and place in the fridge to rest while you roll out the dough.
On a well floured work surface, press dough into a 3×5-inch rectangle, roll the dough out to about 1/8-inch thickness. The dough should be slightly larger than 9×12-inches. Trim dough with a pizza cutter, creating a perfect rectangle that is 9-inches tall and 12-inches long. Using the pizza cutter, cut each side into thirds, creating 9 squares. Place dough squares in the fridge while you roll out the second piece of dough in the same way.
Brush one set of 9 squares with beaten egg. This will act as the glue for the top layer of dough. Spoon about one tablespoon of pie filling into the center of each brushed dough square. Top with a second piece of dough and use a floured fork to crimp the sides closed. Use the tines of the fork to create vent holes in each tart.
Position a rack in the upper third of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F. Let tarts rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes while the oven preheats.
Remove tarts from the fridge and place in the oven to bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
While the tarts bake, whisk together ingredients for the glaze and set aside.
Let baked tarts rest on a cooling rack to cool completely before glazing. Best served within 2 days.

Thinking Green
It is almost the Holidays with Thanksgiving in just a few weeks. From now until Christmas I will focus these Thursday Green Posts on Upcycling products to create Holiday decorations or gifts.
This week I would like to share a gift using a bike innertube to create a men's wallet. Here is a list of materials needed to create this gift:
- innertube - a 26 x 1.9/195 tube is the perfect height without having to trim.
- sewing machine - you'll need one with adjustable tensioning
- black thread
- scissors
- currency
- a license or card
- a ruler
For the complete tutorial with photos, visit KenhFisher's post on Instructables by clicking here - bike wallet.

Thinking Green
My husband and I keep our house at a cool 64-65 degrees in the daytime and 60 at night (lots of down comforters). We both work at home - he dresses in sweats, I in yoga pants with sweaters. So far this works for us and we save money on our oil bill. If I have to do computer work you can usually find me in front of the fireplace with my laptop.
I recently came across a new type of Thermostat called the NEST that might be able to save you some money by conserving energy through controlling the temperature in your home. You can even lower it from your iPhone. Check out the Youtube video below:

Tuesday's Treasures
My November Guest by Robert Frost
My Sorrow, when she's here with me,
Thinks these dark days of autumn rain
Are beautiful as days can be;
She loves the bare, the withered tree;
She walks the sodden pasture lane.
Her pleasure will not let me stay.
She talks and I am fain to list:
She's glad the birds are gone away,
She's glad her simple worsted grady
Is silver now with clinging mist.
The desolate, deserted trees,
The faded earth, the heavy sky,
The beauties she so ryly sees,
She thinks I have no eye for these,
And vexes me for reason why.
Not yesterday I learned to know
The love of bare November days
Before the coming of the snow,
But it were vain to tell he so,
And they are better for her praise.
