Monday Musings: Homemade Cranberry Sauce Recipe -

I visited a neighbor just down the road for some fresh cranberries from his family cranberry bog.  In the late Fall I look for the 'Open' sign on his small cart loaded with stuffed bags of cranberries. For $7.00 you can buy a five pound bag. Nothing beats buying local and organic!

Cranberry Sauce
2 cups water
2 cups of sugar
4 cups cranberries

Wash cranberries well.
Mix 2 cups water and 2 cups sugar in pot.
Heat to boiling;boil for 5 minutes (sugar will be clear).
Stir in 4 cups of cranberries.
Heat to boiling.
Boil rapidly for 5 minutes longer (hmmm, a heart).
Cool; cover and refrigerate for a least 8 hours.
